Hocking College purchased Lake Snowden from Le-Ax Water District in 1998. The acquisition of this property compliments the college’s natural resource programs and allows them to continue to distinguish themselves as national leaders. Lake Snowden is a crown jewel that will enable further excellence in fish management and aquaculture, while providing continued enjoyment by the public.
Hocking College is the largest technical college in Ohio offering over 40 programs in business, engineering and science, health careers, hospitality, natural resources and public safety courses. Over 5,000 students represent every county in Ohio, 40 states and 53 foreign countries.
The college owns and operates the Inn and Hocking College, Hocking Hills Travel Agency, Robbins Crossing, Hocking Woods Nature Center, as well as the fish hatchery located at Lake Snowden.
